Self-discipline to attain Self-realization (advice written by Guruji in 1981):
Practice pure love
Keep a little physical distance from all so that you do not get
attached
Read and write the Holy Word
Sacrifice ego and selfishness
Heal by the power of the Holy Name
Eat only one main meal per day
Walk and exercise as much as possible
Keep a spiritual diary
Commit to memory some divine wisdom every day
Feel the presence of God everywhere always
Be humble, sincere and straight forward
Completely surrender to God and His will
Be contented
Treat the pairs of opposites alike
Give more than you receive
Fulfill your promises
Be kind. Be patient. Be compassionate
Help the needy and the poor with the spirit of service
Learn to accept life's lessons
Do not despair. Do not give up hope
Be positive. Do not be negative at any time
Develop detachment, knowing that everything is impermanent
Be devoted to Truth
The very moment you repent and pray, you are forgiven
As is your faith, so shall be your reward
You are exactly what your faith is
It is not too late, you can still attain perfection. See refuge
in God
Do not insult. Do not criticize. Do not judge. Do not hate anyone
Things happen as per predetermined karma. However, follow your
heart's dharma
Do not worry over past mistakes, they are life's lessons. Now,
make a bold decision and pray to God for help
Inspire others through your own noble example
Do something heroic and contribute to world peace
Do not get angry even when provoked. Hold your peace and be silent
Practice the voice of silence at least an hour a day or one day
in a week
Adjust and adapt. Do not grumble
Share and grow in everything that you have
Give and forgive
Conquer jealousy. Transform hatred into love
Seek the company of the wise; serve them and find answers to your
questions
Do not doubt in God, Guru and Dharma. A doubting soul perishes
True love means sacrifice
Sing the Name of God. Your emotions will be integrated
God will help you the very moment you pray and seek His help sincerely
Do not abuse anybody. Do not abuse your powers
When you do not run after name and fame, they run behind you
Without God, life is void
Love is the greatest energy and the greatest power. Love is God
Do not be a fanatic and destroy the purpose of religion. Be universal
You get what you deserve
If you grow in faith, you grow in everything else
Remember God in every breath
Do not gossip; it dissipates your energy
Make people happy by giving them the knowledge of themselves
Trust God and surrender
Surrender invokes the grace of God
Make others happy, then you will be happy
Do not hurt anybody. Do not kill. Do not cheat. Do not hate: for
God is in every being
Be fearless, knowing that God is with you
Stand alone, if necessary, with the Truth
Understand others' problems and try to help them
None is great, none is small in the eyes of God
Patience and perseverance is the greatest penance; prosperity
and peace are its reward
God knows everything. God does everything. Be you only His instrument
Knowledge of God is the greatest wealth. Gain that wealth by all
means and attain immortality
Life is short. Make the best out of it by realizing the Truth
Do your best and leave the rest to the Almighty
